Outdoor Power Equipment Technician

The Outdoor Power Equipment Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of products such as outdoor power equipment, health and fitness equipment, welders, compressors, and tools involving mechanical, hydraulics, diesel, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Service is performed both in Service Center as well as at customer locations. The OPE Technician determines parts needs and orders parts. The OPE Technician is required to maintain a safe work area, obey safety rules and ensure safety decals are properly displayed. This position must be able to correctly utilize the Service Center’s in-house computer system.  The OPE Technician must remain current with all applicable equipment features and applications. They will be required to assist in training customers on equipment. This position must demonstrate excellent customer service skills by conducting daily activities and interacting in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Providing quality product repair and service.

· Use expertise to provide customers with options on repair/replacement type decisions.

· Assist in maintaining an accurate schedule and record of maintenance.

· Providing technical support to parts manager to insure accuracy in parts ordering.

· Safely maintaining and operating service vehicle to insure service accuracy and customer satisfaction.

· Must have a mastery of mechanical repair and maintenance of equipment. The ability to diagnose complex mechanical problems and successfully repair/operate machinery.

 Minimum Qualifications:

· High school degree or equivalent

· Minimum two to five years experience in mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and pneumatic and electrical repairs involving outdoor power equipment, tools and vehicles

· Previous training through manufacturer training courses a plus

· Current EETC Certifications or equivalent mechanical certifications

· Ability to proficiently operate order management, parts look-up, transactional, and trip routing applications and computer systems.

· Clean, valid driving record (MVR will be obtained)

· Good interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability to clearly explain potentially complex subject matter to the customer.· The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.See Job Description
