The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company currently has an opening for a Applications Resident Engineer at its' corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio.

Department Description:
Global Engineering and Manufacturing Technology has the responsibility of inventing, designing, and delivering product and process technologies to make Goodyear's Business Strategies achievable. This department engineers and integrates new technologies to support new products and increased manufacturing capability.


Primary Purpose of the Position:
If you are our selected candidate, you will be a vital member of the Corporate Projects Team that is responsible for providing leadership and direction to a project team responsible for multiple corporate capital projects, delivering superior customer service and execution of the project. The resident engineer is recognized as technical expert in many disciplines, and required to implement civil, electrical, and mechanical projects based on sound engineering principles with the support of corporate engineers. The realization of these goals must not sacrifice the safety of contractors, visiting engineers, or project team.



Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
* Safety - Responsible for driving a zero incident culture. Quarterly contractor safety statistics are reported to corporate management in Akron, OH.
* Quality - Responsible for project installations conformance to specification. Reliability enhancements are required for development projects and resident engineer must take an active part to drive this process for new technology.
* Cost - Responsible for managing a project within budget. Monthly cost reports will be reviewed and adjusted for current spending and cost to complete.
* Delivery - Responsible for delivery of quality projects on time to internal and/or external customer(s). The hand-off of a machine or system's ownership to the customer including training of production, maintenance, and management personnel and safety sign-off.
* Business Conduct - Responsible for ensuring compliance with all appropriate Goodyear and Governmental policies and regulations.


Qualifications:
Required-

Put your B.S. degree (or higher) in Engineering, Engineering Technology or relevant experience in a related field, good verbal, written and electronic communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, character and integrity to work here at Goodyear and enjoy a rewarding career!
