SAP MDM Data Modeler-Analyst

Requirements

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company currently has an opening for a SAP MDM Data Modeler-Analyst
at its' corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio.

Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Data Modeler/Analyst acts as the Data Lead for MDM projects in the translation of the business requirements to the implementation of data components of the solution. This position will report to the MDM IT Technical manager. This role supports the team through their understanding of data content and how it flows throughout systems and the organization, including conversions, capacities and timing. This person will be a part of the initial MDM IT project team participating in master data analysis & modelling and will provide on-going support as the team transitions to a steady state environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
* Creates and maintains master data models at various levels such as subject area, sub-subject area, entity, attribute etc.
* Assists in defining data modelling standards and ensures established corporate standards and guidelines are followed on master data projects
* Defines data scope, objectives, and requirements
* Defines data team work plan activities and assist with plan, cost, and schedule development for MDM projects or enhancements
* Assist in development of conceptual and functional data design
* Lead the MDM component build and unit test of data integration processes
* Lead the execution of the MDM system, performance, user acceptance and regression testing.
* Gather business requirements and translate them into logical Data Models and MDM specific data models
* Analyze and profile data in source and target databases and assist business in understanding data better
* Own & support any data quality tool and support the data stewards in identifying and resolving data quality issues
* Create and maintain ETL maps in data quality tool as required
* Coordinate the process of importing data from data files from external resources (data refreshes, new roll-outs, etc.)
* Responsible to help identify and resolve any data related issues.
* Help on-boarding/cross training of new Data Modeler/Analysts in the team

Qualifications:

Required-
* Bachelor's or higher level degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
* 5 or more years of overall IT experience
* 2 or more years Data Modeling and Data Analysis experience
* Knowledge and experience working with SAP MDM specific data models
* 1 or more years experience using leading ETL tools (e.g. Informatica)
* Experience using data profiling and data quality tools and creating data reports
* Knowledge and experience working with SAP MDM specific data models
* Knowledge of various master data concepts such as hierarchies, taxonomies, classifications etc.
* Working knowledge of relational database concepts and access techniques
* Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
* Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred-
* Hands on experience using SAP MDM 5.5 SP4 (or above) tools such as Console
* Experience using data profiling and data quality tools and creating data reports
* 2 or more years experience in logical and physical Data Modelling using tools like ERWIN
* Experience in meta data management
* Experience with SAP R/3.
* Knowledge of data modelling techniques for data warehousing
* Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Strong customer service skills
