Staff Accountant- Senior

Summary of Responsibilities:

Staff Accountant will steward key functions within the accounting department and should have broad general exposure to accounting department functions. These will include inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, bank reconciliations and general accounting. The staff accountant should be pro-active in problem resolution/ prevention; process-improvement oriented and will work closely with the Accounting Manager and CFO. Additionally, experience in the following areas will assist in their success:

Responsibilities / Experience:Compliance, maintenance, and assistance with the development of internal controls within NHMH Month-end closing responsibilities, to include accurate and timely posting of J/E’s Generating all required monthly activity reports i.e. A/R aging, A/P aging, Warranty aging, etc. Account reconciliations as assigned are kept up to date. Manage and coordinate fixed asset accounting, database maintenance, and adherence to NHMH policy for acquisitions and disposals. Ensuring internal customer satisfaction in addressing questions concerning accounting issues. Timely preparation and filing of personal property tax and real property tax. Preparation of Sales Tax reports and filing. All federal filings, including 5500’s, annual survey’s, etc. Assist as needed in preparing the annual and midyear plan. Coordinate and assist outside auditors as needed. Cash / Bank Account management. General Ledger analysis and problem resolution. Assist Accounting Manager as needed. Other items as assigned by Accounting Manager.

Education / Experience Required:Bachelors Degree, preferably in Accounting 5+ years accounting experience
