My client, one of the largest Machine Tool Builders in the world, is looking for an experienced Service Technician to travel 30-40% and be located in Athens GA to cover the local area.

 

Perform a variety of field service duties to install, maintain and repair a range of standard machine tool products at customer plant locations, involving mechanical operations and electrical accessories.

 

Works from assignments, instructions and planned schedules to arrange call schedule for servicing machines and accessories at customers’ plant.  Work involves installation of machines and attachments, repair of damaged or defective machines, and the general maintenance of machines under warranty or service policies.  Diagnose trouble, tear down and replace worn or defective parts and mechanisms, re-assemble and try out.  Arrange for obtaining parts of units required for repairs through established procedures.

 

Check electrical functions in machines.  Follow established methods to check out circuits, connections or operating electrical mechanisms to determine faulty wiring defects.  Operate machine and take necessary action to correct malfunction when detected.  Complete all required records and fill out prescribed forms to insure proper handling of billings, credits and other procedures. Furnish technical assistance to field sales personnel and customer as to maintenance and repair of equipment.

 

Attend trade shows and demonstrations as directed, and assist in setting up and operating equipment.  Make suggestions for changes or improvements as may be developed through field service activities.  Consult with superior on all critical or unusual problems, and perform various other associated duties as assigned or as required.
