Administrator of Technical Committees
This position coordinates the work of assigned technical committees by acting as the SAE representative at appropriate committee meetings, facilitating committee work before, during and after meetings, planning meeting facilities, working directly with committee chair-people, suppliers, ensuring adherence to legal requirements, policies and procedures, doing on-site registration (when required) and publication sales, training and supervising the work of administrative staff, to ensure the production of technical standards that are relevant to the industry and which meet the goals of SAE.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Contributing to the management of assigned SAE technical committees and relevant international committees by organizing and planning in an effective and professional manner
§ Acting as the communication focal point for all committee activities by producing and distributing correspondence, resolving problems, answering inquiries, etc.
§ Facilitating and expediting the work of assigned committees by independently representing SAE as the sole staff person
§ Developing and giving presentations on new procedures, policies, processes, etc. to assigned committees
§ Possessing a working knowledge of Technical Standards Board and SAE operating procedures and requirements, and providing guidance to assigned committees QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
· Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field, preferred
· Associates degree in Business or related field plus at least five years of broad experience in business, meeting planning, or an administrative or customer service support field area, or equivalent, required
· Excellent oral and written communications skills, required
· Strong negotiation skills, required
· Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills, required
· Ability to effectively utilize computer and web applications, required
· Excellent computer skills including Web, Word, and Excel
· Ability to develop and implement meeting plans
