Allison Transmission designs, manufactures and markets automatic transmissions and Hybrid propulsion systems for on-highway trucks and buses, off-highway vehicles and equipment and military vehicles worldwide. Position Description

Engineer to work directly with our customers regarding the application and installation of our products. Communication of product needs and product programs will be an integral part of the job as well as staying abreast of the Allison competition. Support to other functions within Allison will also be required. Hardware and controls knowledge of our products both mechanical and electronic will be an essential part of being successful in this position.

1.  Provide application engineering support to OEM's and distributors.
2.  Provide application engineering support to Sales and Service.
3.  Provide application diagnostic skills to resolve vehicle system and installation problems.
4.  Identify product needs to satisfy customer and vehicle requirements.
5.  Interface with engine manufacturers and other support equipment suppliers as required.
6.  Coordinate engineering program activities with OEM's, Sales, Service and Product Engineering.
7.  Manage budget, travel schedules, and equipment needs.
8.  Assess competitive activity.
9.  Provide technical written reports on engineering activity on a regular basis, as required

Position Requirements

BSME or BSEE or equivalent experience required

Required:

1.  Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
2.  Familiarity with vehicles and vehicle powertrain systems required.
3.  High level of interpersonal skills to conduct business required.
4.  Highly proficient in personal computer operation (i.e. Microsoft Office, etc) required.
5.  Knowledge of problem solving and statistical methods required.
6.  Working knowledge of automatic transmission products required.
7.  Willing to travel, as needed, for business purposes required.  

Preferred:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
