Applications Engineer

Schaeffler Group USA, Inc., (formerly FAG Bearings Corporation) an internationally known leader in the manufacture of ball and roller bearings, has an immediate opening for an Applications Engineer in our Danbury, CT office.

 

The individual we seek will be responsible for the following:

 

§ Identify accounts within target industries and required products.

§ Prepare activity plans, which will lead to increased sales in the identified accounts.

§ Promote product at seminars, in trade shows, with customer calls and at industry associations.

§ Review forecast of product for target areas and counsel region sales management in the preparation of the same.

§ Provide prompt and accurate response to customer, industry and region needs.

§ Obtain and analyze data, calculate, develop bearings specifications, prepare and present proposals and perform value analysis.

§ Make recommendations on applications and suggest alternate product or designs to region engineering.

§ Assist service engineering and sell installation and inspection support.

§ Support field sales with goal of increased target industry and target product sales.

§ Responsible for providing technical information to the field sales.

§ Maintain a “state-of-the-art” level of knowledge in product design, new products, new technical information and industry developments. 

§ Prepare and initiate new product requests with manufacturing.

§ Participate in target industry association activities.  Including monthly/annual meetings and publications.

§ Responsible for the training of customer sales personnel and service engineering within the engineers’ target market and industry area of specialization.

 

Qualifications:

 

Must have a minimum of five years industry application and engineering experience.  Must possess BSME or equal.  Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.  Bearing experience a plus.
