Applications Engineer - Foundation BrakesResponsibilities:· Meet program goals such as performance, timing, cost, mass, etc. · Significant interface with customer to facilitate all tasks below· Maintain overall Foundation Brake systems and component engineering issues and timing.· Maintain program specific Foundation Brake Systems and component FMEAs· Communicate & drive issue resolution for Foundation Brake vehicle and component DVPR tests.· Participate in key vehicle development tests· Coordinate and/or participate in all TRW customer vehicle demonstrations.· Participate in OEM key vehicle evaluation trips.· Maintain Foundation Brake systems and component open issues list.· Participate in all prototype vehicle level static and dynamic sign-offs· Conduct regular status meetings with Foundation Brake component & vehicle development. · Coordinate all Foundation Brake component package activities.· Participate and/or conduct Foundation Brake component design and release activities.· Coordinate Foundation Brake component updates on development and durability vehicles.· Support vehicle durability & development activities at OEM’s Proving Grounds· Track status of system and component level specification compliance· Support launch activities at TRW manufacturing facilities and OEM assembly plants Requirements:· BSME or BSEE (4-8 years automotive engineering experience ) AND· Familiar with Brake and/or ABS OR· Familiar with other chassis components (steering, suspension, etc) OR· Familiar with vehicle testing OR· Familiar with OEM component design and release system OR· Familiar with vehicles through serious hobby (restoration, back-yard mechanic, racing, etc.) Skills: (must be strong in all areas)· EXCELLENT COMMUNICATOR (verbal and written)· Able to multi-task· Dynamic/Aggressive· Self-starter * includes some/all of the following components; calipers, rotors, hubs, bearings, extenders, knuckles, parking brake As an employer with an Affirmative Action Obligation pursuant to Executive Order 11246, the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act, and the Rehabilitation Act, we must comply with government regulations regarding the collection of demographic information about our employees and about those individuals being considered for employment with our organization.
