Applications Engineer (Principal Product Engineer)Job Responsibilities: • Manages major work packages in advanced development program(s) in functional organization. • Serves as a liaison between the customer, engineering, manufacturing, sales on specific products and programs. • Assists in providing technical interface between the customer and TRW operating units. • Responsible for flow down of customer vehicle level requirements into system and component requirements. • Responsible for defining customer requirements and gaining customer approval for system level performance requirements and other design expectations and/or constraints. • Coordinate steering system packaging into vehicle environment. • Ability to coordinate, approve design changes and drawing updates between TRW and the customer. • Participate in customer ride and handling development activities. • Coordination of technical information and timing requirements for sample/prototype builds between customer and TRW operating units. • Builds relationship with customers to create a climate of collaboration and open communication.Qualifications: • 8-10 years experience in automotive engineering. Experience in EPHS, column drive electric and hydraulic power steering preferred. • Travel to customer sites and other TRW locations on an as needed basis. (10% -20%). May include international travel. • Ability to interface at various levels of management at TRW as well as the customer. • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills. • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite. • Attend training on an as needed basis to ensure up-to-date knowledge.Education: • BSME/BSEE required. Masters Degree in a technical field preferred.
