Automation Design Engineer

The Mergis Group is seeking an experienced automation design engineer for a premier diversified industrial manufacturer in the areas of automotive, fluid power, aviation and electronics.  The company has a manufacturing presence in 31 countries with 70,000 employees and over $13 billion in sales in 2007.  The ideal candidate will be familiar with CAD design and layout, 2D and 3D design and drafting tools and six sigma design techniques.  The ideal candidate will also be responsible for design, development, validation, production release and support of small mechanisms that will be manufactured in high speed automation equipment.   Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering 7-10 years of relevant experience Skilled in product data management systems Knowledge of integrating automatic assembly subsystems Must be familiar with mold and die tooling, tooling repair and functionality Background in high volume assembly Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes Must be open to significant travel Extreme attention to detail  Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
