Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation a major automotive supplier of automotive components has an immediate opening for the following position in Troy, Michigan:

 

BUYER – COMPONENTS (INTERIOR/EXTERIOR)

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The Components Buyer will be responsible for purchasing a full range of commodities to support Interior/Exterior products (Instrument Panels/Consoles) at the corporate level, supporting individual Toyoda Gosei (TG) group companies (plants) throughout North America

 

In addition, this candidate will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

· Lead sourcing & new program launch activities with new/existing suppliers/materials

· Development of cost model and cost estimations

· Price negotiations

· Leading Cost Savings Initiatives (Annual Price Review, VA/VE, etc.)

o  Lead Annual Price Review negotiations with existing suppliers for cost reductions

o  Lead VA/VE (Tamazume) activities with new/existing suppliers and TG cross functional groups to drive cost savings

· Issue, collect, negotiate and analyze RFQ’s for new/existing materials/suppliers

· PO creation and maintenance

· Supporting Commodity Strategy Development and leading execution of strategy

· Supporting Corporate Purchasing’s weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual goals & objectives

· Communicate with TG Japan (HQ) regarding global Components strategies

· Up to 20% travel

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business related fieldsCost estimating background preferredMinimum of 2 years experience in Components purchasingBi-lingual (Japanese/English) is a plusHighly proficient in Microsoft OfficeExcellent organization and communication skills requiredHighly analytical and detail oriented
