This Manufacture is currently seeking a Buyer/Parts Purchasing and Inventory Control person for their Middle Tennessee facility with a minimum of 3 years experience, preferably in metals, parts, components and electrical.

The individual will be responsible for purchasing tools, equipment, and safety items for the Maintenance Department, coordinating requests from different departments, creating purchase orders, reconciling all materials received against purchase orders and other duties as assigned.

Responsibility:

 

Developing suppliers both current and potential
Negotiate excess inventory returns with suppliers.
Maintain service level requirements for specific customers.
Develop processes and procedures for handling special requirements.
Analyze key measurements to increase inventory turns while maintaining service levels
Reduce on hand inventory values while maintaining service levels
The direct procurement activities for purchased parts (BOM and MRO)

Planning and scheduling of raw material and components while maintaining inventory levels




Requirements:


Minimum of 3 year experience in purchasing and/or inventory control.

Proficient in LEAN and/or JIT  

Strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and co- workers.

Strong analytical skills, Independent Decisions based on facts

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Excellent organizational skills for multi-high priority responsibilities and ability to multi-task.

Ability to meet deadlines and provide accurate and timely correspondence.

Advanced negotiation skills and experience are a MUST.

Ability to adapt well to change
Understanding of profitability. Decision making on major sourcing to reduce total material costs.

Ensure proper functioning of department, including the planned arrival of goods, working closely with inventory control.
