Commodity Buyer - Plastics

A leading automotive seating manufacturer is currently looking for an experienced Foam & Plastics Buyer.  This position will provide best in-class service to the program and manufacturing teams for their area of expertise.  They will assist in securing competitive price quotes, vendor sourcing and assuring supplier certification and compliance with TS 16949.

Responsibilities of the position include:
Conduct VAVE/ABC analysis for cost reductions Investigate new vendor sources and contact for competitive price quotes Analyze and summarize quotes and recommend supply sources Provide product calculations and cost estimating for new and existing programs Prepare request for quote documentation Coordinate Engineering changes between departments for specified projects Perform all functions according to TS 16949 Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree Strong procurement experience in plastics including foam, raw materials, tool design, injection molding process and components Experience in cost estimating and product calculations Minimum of 3-5 years experience in automotive environment Good communication and organizational skills Superior negotiation skills Ability to multi-task Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Experience with SAP preferred MS Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent Team Player
