JOB DESCRIPTION 

DEPARTMENT: Engineering

 

POSITION TITLE:  CAD DESIGNER

 

SUPERIOR:  Engineering Manager

 

1.0  BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

 

·  3-D CAD Design

·  2-D CAD Design

·  Lead 2D – Detailing

·  Design Concepts/Styling

 

2.0  MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·  Design products – implement changes

·  Illustration Sheets

·  Communication with Project Engineers

·  Customer Liaison, if Required on Site during All Phases of program

·  Attend Night Drive Tests if required

·  Monitor Data Transfers with the Customer and Vendors

·  Cooperate with Data Administration

·  Proposals for cost reductions

·  Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

3.0  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

- Education:

- Engineering degree or equivalent work experience

- Experience:

- CAD training in Unigraphics, Catia V5

- 3-5 years either system

- Exterior automotive lighting 2-5 years

- Solid / parametric modeling

- Plastic part design

- Skills:

- Craftsmanship skills
