The Auto Parts Group, a $200+ million division of Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. that includes Pick-n-Pull, is seeking a professional, organized, positive-minded multi-tasker to support our Accounting Manager as a Cash Verifications Clerk. Schnitzer is a 100 year old publicly traded company with revenues in excess of $1.5 billion.  The Auto Parts Group is a fast growing division within Schnitzer that is focused on consolidating the highly fragmented recycled auto parts market. 

 

The Cash Verifications Clerk will be responsible for verifying daily deposits, reconciling discrepancies, investigating cash over/shorts, month end commission calculations, month-end reporting and journal preparation.

 

So, what will it take to be successful?

 

· Review daily sales summary

· Retrieve previous day bank deposit information via internet/telephone banking

· Enter all POS adjustments

· Send over/short variances to the stores and research variances

· Filing 

· Ad-hoc projects as assigned.

· Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting

· Ability to use standard office equipment, including a computer.

· Ability to attend meetings at various sites within and away from the Admin office.

· Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 10 pounds.

· Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.

· Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

· High School Diploma

· Two years experience in Accounting

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel software and ERP systems (preferably Oracle)

· Work in a fast pace team environment.

· Detail Oriented and highly accurate.

· Ability to build relationships and excellent communication skills
