Commodity Buyer - Metals

Provide best in-class service to the program team and manufacturing for his/her are of functional expertise.  To assist in securing competitive price quotes and vendor sources and assuring supplier certification and compliance with TS16949.

 

Responsibilities of the position / job description

 

·         Conduct VAVE/ABC analysis for cost reductions

·         Investigate new vendor sources and contact for competitive price quotes

·         Analyze and summarize quotes and recommend supply sources

·         Provide product calculations and cost estimating for new and existing programs

·         Prepare request for quote documentation

·         Coordinate Engineering changes between Engineering, Quality and Sales Departments for specified projects

·         Perform all functions according to TS 16949

·         Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree  

·         Strong procurement experience in metals – raw materials, tool design, stampings, electrical components

·         Experience in cost estimating and product calculations

·         Minimum of 3-5 years experience in automotive environment

·         Good communication and organizational skills

·         Superior negotiation skills

·         Ability to multi-task

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·         Experience with SAP preferred

·         Computer knowledge or aptitude (MS Office, Excel or equivalent)

·         Team player
