THIS POSITION IS IN KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI

 

Purpose

Using Six Sigma methodology, leads project teams to deliver project cost, quality and time objectives established by the Champion and his/her respective business unit or functional executive.

 

Scope

This Work Instruction applies the Kansas City Facility. 

 

Responsibility

Facilitate cross-functional expert teams to drive breakthrough or Best-in-Class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow, and Cost.

 

Identifies key individuals for team membership and secures their approval to become team members.

 

Provides basic Six Sigma training to project team members.

 

Applies Six Sigma tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve and control project processes.

 

Reports on project progress to Champion and other appropriate leadership levels at least on a monthly basis.

 

Prepares detailed plans to track project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of quality and savings goals.

 

Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help from champions when needed.

 

Attends required training and acquires needed skills.

 

Documents improvement process learning and shares best practices with other Black Belts.

 

Identifies and brings forward to Champion new project opportunities.

 

Accountable to impact on Operational Cost.

 

All other tasks as assigned.

 

 

Experience Required

 

Has demonstrated high-level performance in current and previous positions.

Consistently achieves “Excellent” overall ratings in annual CID reviews

Is considered “high potential” or “successor” in the plant, department or executive leadership succession plan.

Exceptions to these two criteria must be reviewed with the General Manager

 

Has shown initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations.

 

Possesses basic statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects.

 

Possesses basic computer skills (experience with spreadsheet applications would be very helpful).

 

Has demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority.

 

Has sufficient experience within the Company to be able to understand the organization and its business processes.

 

Can communicate effectively at all levels.

 

Is regarded as objective, open-minded and an “out-of-the-box” thinker.

 

Ability to read English written documents is highly desirable.
