Continuous Improvement Manager

Organize and conduct Lean workshops resulting in improvements in quality, productivity, safety, ergonomics, lead-time, floor space, inventory and morale.
Follow-up on the action plans generated from Lean to assure completion and continuous improvement of our manufacturing capabilities.
Keep abreast of the current Lean manufacturing technology and methods.
Report directly to the Plant Manager any issues or information affecting deployment of Lean manufacturing in the facility.
Work with manufacturing and engineering to improve processes and products to eliminate waste and reduce non-value added activities.
Maintain and regularly update database to include: plan for implementation and a division master file with all result summaries, work plans, projects, and other pertinent data.
Keep the plant aligned with the ASG Dana Production system. Communicate with the Divisional Lean Deployment Manager, and report out metrics on a weekly basis. Assist other ASG plants in the deployment of lean manufacturing when necessary.
Other assignments to advance Dana in Lean manufacturing.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor Degree preferred
2 + years experience in lean manufacturing preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Proven ability to train and motivate at all levels of the organization.
Thorough understanding of Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, pull systems, cellular manufacturing, one-piece flow, 5-S, mistake-proofing, standard work, quick die change and visual management preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Must be self-directed individual with excellent planning, organization and follow up.
Able to follow through on problems to insure timely completion.
Able to work in stressful situations without direct supervision.
