Corporate Purchasing Manager

Amtex, Inc. is a $130 Million automotive supplier.  Amtex, Inc., located in Lebanon, OH, is a Tier 1 automotive supplier to the Japanese OEMs.

 

The main function of this position will be to manage a newly developing corporate purchasing group that will coordinate the purchasing activities of multiple Amtex locations throughout North America and identify and develop supplier relationships that provide the company with long term and high value sources of purchased raw materials and finished goods.

 

Position ResponsibilitiesNegotiate, manage and audit purchasing function and agreements for raw materials and parts with vendors for Amtex locations as well as its affiliated partners and supply locations.Coordinate actual pricing data and standard costs development for key materials.Participate/Lead purchasing teams for new product development or new processes as well as coordinate design change iterations of current parts and materials.Identify, negotiate, and define business relationships for new contract suppliers.Coordinate corporate purchasing activities that are consistent with overall future direction of the organization and in line with customer expectations for global cost competitiveness.Develop a corporate Purchasing function and harmonize satellite purchasing activities to a consolidated corporate purchasing group and activity.

Position RequirementsBS/BA degree.10 years of purchasing experience in MRP environment preferably with QAD.Purchasing skills- value analysis, cost reduction, negotiation, and supplier management.Demonstrated use of Quality Improvement techniques. International Parts Sourcing experience.Computer skills in MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Excellent communication skills.Strong ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.Prior experience in managing purchasing team.Japanese OEM experience beneficial.CPM Certification or equivalent.
