Customs Compliance Analyst

Nissan Forklift Corporation, a supplier of electric and engine powered forklifts, electric pallet trucks, tow tractors, walkie stackers, and manual pallet trucks, has an opening for a Senior Logistics Analyst. 

 

ResponsibilitiesCoordinates activities with U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protections (CBP) and Customs Brokers  in clearing shipments into the US from Asia (primarily Japan), Europe, Canada, and Mexico.Ensures appropriate documentation is filed and in compliance with applicable governmental regulations.Ensures timely and accurate filings of FTZ documentation in avoidance of risks and penalties, sanctions or additional monetary penalties.Managers projects and conducts appropriate follow up (daily, if necessary) to ensure shipments are received timely, ensuring support of production and sales requirements.Will participate in US CBP audits ensuring compliance for applicable customs regulatory requirements.Documentation must be available for internal or external audits at all times.Classifies parts and goods according to U.S. CBP Harmonized Tariff SchedulePrepares and submits the appropriate FTZ forms to CBP such as CF512, CF214, CF216, CF349, and any additional required documents.Manages inbound and outbound logistics freight suppliers and contractors.Assists with preparation of North American Free Trade Agreement Certificate of Origin (NAFTA) to minimize duties paid on import shipments into the U.S., Canada, and Mexico and ensure compliance with NAFTA regulations.



 Qualifications·  Minimum of two (2) years experience in import, export, and customs clearance, preferably in a forklift or related heavy industrial equipment environment.·  Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field is required.·  Must possess the ability to handle difficult and demanding situations and multiple priorities  ·  Requires good verbal and written communications skills along with a demonstrated teamwork attitude·  Customs Broker License desirable
