Urban Science is currently looking for a Database Consultant to join it world headquarters location in Detroit MI.

Duties/ResponsibilitiesData auditing and maintenance of quality control standards for company databases and algorithms.Data / Process maintenance in the SQL Server / Windows based environment.Update and maintain work instructions/documentation for company processes.Update and maintain utility programs.Maintenance of company databases.Maintain a positive relationship with client and suppliers.Provide technical support to analytical team members.Create and produce high quality special project deliverables resulting from ad-hoc customer requests on schedule and within budget.Extract, manipulate, and analyze data using propriety software, Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL Server.Willing and active team member, dedicated to team success.
QualificationsExtremely strong attention to detail.Proven problem-solving skills.Able to independently prioritize daily work assignments.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple concurrent tasks. Knowledge of relational databases, SQL Server, Access and Excel a must.Programming experience preferred such as: VBA, Visual Basic, Visual C++, C# etc. Willingness to develop technical skills.Strong PC skills, in depth knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products.Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills, interpersonal skills and project management skills required.
EducationBachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems or related field, Business concentration a plus.Knowledge of relational databases and their related objects. Microsoft Access and/or SQL Server knowledge required.GIS software knowledge a plus.
