Design Engineer - IP and Console

Job Description Toyota Technical Center (TTC), a leader in the R & D Industry, is seeking an Engineer to coordinate, design and development consoles and instrument panels.  The employee will join the Engineering Design (ED4) Department at our Ann Arbor, Michigan facility. Coordinate design and development of Console & Instrument Panel components Understand Toyota methodologies and processes for vehicle development. Schedule for, make, design and issue parts drawings using CAD Plan development with suppliers and follow-up to keep their schedule and their meeting of Toyota performance requirements. Investigate and make countermeasures for field issues Report weekly status to superiors and support regular department reports to DPO/management Benchmark competitors vehicles Perform other duties as assigned   Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Interest and/or knowledge of Automotive engineering as it relates to the console and instrument panel of the vehicle. General understanding and application of standard engineering theory, principles, and problem solving techniques. Analytical problem solving abilities. Ability to effectively coordinate projects Good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with suppliers, design and TMC Experience and/or willingness to use CAD Experience designing Instrument Panels is preferred, however TTC will consider candidates with automotive internship or coop experience.
