Distribution/Warehouse Manager - $48,000 - $50,000 Per Year

Located in Sylmar, CA

 

Duties and Primary Responsibilities

· Manage and facilitate all facets of supply management activities between business units

· Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations

· Oversee warehouse staff and Distribution Drivers

· Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements; Ensure complete compliance with all regulatory agencies

· Understand, track and forecast the key cost drivers

· Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures

· Control inventory levels; reconcile inventory

· Maintain cost effective shipping methods and continuously strive to improve freight costs and efficiencies

· Coordinate with equipment providers for the scheduled delivery of materials and suppliesEnsure that all deliveries are made in a timely and correct manner without loss of sales. Ensure the security of all company assets. Stock control – Inwards & Outwards GoodsOSHA compliance for warehousePerform daily stock takesWarranty testing & recordingEnsure product qualityScrap collectionAll other duties as required

Skills / Experience / Qualifications Required

 5+ years supervisory experience required (BA/BS degree in Business management/Logistics or Operation Management Preferred)5+ years Transportation and Warehousing experience required DOT and Hazardous Communication TrainingKnowledge of OSHA Compliance PreferredProficient with computer (MS Office Programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Strong communication skills Strong customer service experience Ability to train and motivate team membersAble to operate warehousing equipment and company vehicles Valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordCost management First aid Certification a plusBattery and/or Auto electrical industry knowledge preferred
