District Sales Manager

Toyo Tires (USA) Corporation, a leading supplier of high quality passenger, performance, light truck, truck and off-road tires has an opening for a District Sales Manager located in California.

Seeking a management trainee that will be accountable in the attainment of sales targets and goals in all product categories.  Make dealer calls, assist in establishing dealer network, conduct training and market surveys, report sales activities weekly/monthly, help monitor product performance and identify new product needs. Traveling 75-80% of time local & within California.

Individual must be enthusiastic and passionate about performance and technical aspects of automobiles and light trucks. Must have good oral and writtem communication as well as excellent public speaking skills.  Extensive travel required.

SUMMARY:

The District Manager is accountable for assisting in the attainment of assigned Division Unit and dollar sales goals.  This is a management training assignment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: include the following.  Other duties may be assigned by supervisor as deemed necessary.

 

Sales Accountability:

 

· Assist in attaining assigned sales targets in all product categories.

· Dealer calls as required and deemed necessary:

o  Inform dealers promptly of quarterly marketing specials, campaigns and programs.

o  Review dealer’s inventory.

o  Assist and encourage dealers to display and advertise Toyo products.

o  Furnish POP material and literature.

o  Assist dealer with sales and marketing programs.

o  Inform dealers of their purchase records YTD vs. last year’s, YTD vs. target, YTD vs. Toyo volume categories, etc.

o  Solicit orders for all Toyo products as applicable to dealer.

· Assist in establishing a dependable dealer network in all markets within assigned region.

· Conduct PCR, LTR, and TBR training meetings as required.  Conduct marketing surveys as required.

· Make Fleet user calls with dealer commercial salesmen to solicit a new business.

· Plan work and calls efficiently and effectively.

· Report sales activities in weekly and monthly reports.  Prepare a monthly itinerary with the guidance of the Director of Sales in a timely manner.

· Help monitor Toyo product performance vs. competitor and help identify new product needs.

· Assist in establishing profit-minded and cost-conscious practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: 

 

Sales ability.  Four-year college degree preferred.  Two years of tire sales experience and tire product knowledge or equivalent experience and knowledge.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

 

Good verbal and written English language skills.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

 

Personal computer skills necessary for communication and reports.  Working knowledge of PC based word processing; spreadsheets and electronic communication (e-mail) programs will be required.  Self-starter, motivated, and organized.
