Electrical/ Controls Engineer

ELECTRICAL / CONTROLS ENGINEER

 

 

Manufacturer of automotive components located in Aiken area, South Carolina, is in need of an electrical / controls engineer to take responsibility for designing and developing control upgrades, retrofits, new control systems, and new automation technologies for manufacturing and support equipment.

 

Other responsibilities include: operational support of manufacturing and facilities equipment (up to 480v), including development of preventive and predictive maintenance processes and procedures; developing, preparing, implementing and completing capital improvement projects, using a structured project management format; and creating new electrical drawings and upgrading existing drawings (AutoCAD) as continuous improvement activities are implemented. Formal process control, programming and maintenance experience with PLC and PC based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) is also a requirement. Experience with AC/DC, variable frequency and servo drives; robotic control systems and CNC equipment is also a plus. Will supervise contractors or other company associates for implementation and start-up of specific projects.

 

Qualified candidates will have a BSEE with at least five years of relevant experience (manufacturing is preferred). Must have a hands-on approach to problem solving and continuous improvement activities (LEAN manufacturing principles) and be a highly motivated, team-oriented individual. Must also have excellent written, verbal communication and PC skills, using Microsoft Office products, as well as a familiarity with standard accounting practices.
