Allison Transmission designs, manufactures and markets automatic transmissions and Hybrid propulsion systems for on-highway trucks and buses, off-highway vehicles and equipment and military vehicles worldwide. Position Description
An experienced level position for a Sr. Project Engineer with a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Work may involve developing specifications, planning projects or tests, analyzing data, summarizing and reporting results, maintaining records, writing reports, making presentations to management, directing activities of entry level engineers, interfacing with customers and OEM's, with some travel required.

1.  Establish overall control system level requirements.
2.  Conduct system studies and performance analyses.
3.  Coordinate system interfaces.
4.  Lead control system software definition.
5.  Lead system design reviews.
6.  Generate component and system specifications.
7.  Prepare system test plans.
8.  Support component and system testing.
9.  Prepare technical reports and proposal material.
10. Prepare and present technical briefings.
11.  Support preparation of project plans, schedules, budgets and proposals.

Position Requirements

BS Electrical Engineering or BS Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience

1. Proficiency in written and spoken English and good communication skills required.
2.  Experience and/or training in either design, application or maintenance of product systems required.
3.  Ability to interface with customers on technical activities required.
4.  Willingness to travel approximately 10% of time required.

1. Experience in Control System engineering and/or test, including experience with electronic control systems in real time, embedded code preferred.
2.  Experience with a system development tool for simulation and software code development.  Examples include ETAS ASCET, MatrixX, and/or Simulink preferred.
