Engineer III, Valves (10550)

DescriptionPrimary Responsibilities Works closely with designers and technicians to generate product documentation and to conduct product testing, as well as participate in cross-functional teams to achieve the technical, individual, and business objectives Provide technical support of OE and end user customers for Bendix valve product line Operations support to include assisting suppliers and manufacturing plant on technical issues Apply advanced and/or new techniques to solve problems having multiple variables Evaluate technical approaches; select and implements the most cost-effective technical solution Participate as a core team member in the development of valves within the Bendix Product Development and Commercialization process Considerable contact with customers and various levels of management to obtain or present technical data Presentation of results of designs, studies, and projects in terms of new techniques or approaches to colleagues, management, and customers Interact with team members and peers to anticipate and resolve day to day issues and competing project priorities Coordinate projects with Supply Base and Manufacturing Engineering Independently lead problem analysis to develop new processes and procedures Identify issues and areas for improvement with existing technical processes, either independently or through cross-functional teamsRequired Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic Excellent multi-tasking management skills Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage complex technical projects Anticipates problems, recognizes and eliminates barriers Recognizes cost and schedule implications that have considerable project impact, which affects ability to meet critical program schedules and technical objectivesRequired Experience BSME required, Master's degree a plus 6-plus years experience in engineering, with 2 or more years of automotive industry experience Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ASME Y14.5M-1994 standards Six Sigma Greenbelt certification is preferred Knowledge of vehicle pneumatic braking systems An understanding of manufacturing engineering and/or industrial engineering disciplines a plus Experience in plastics forming/molding, stampings, fastening methods, aluminum die casting/machining Proficient in MS Office package including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Project
