We are an equal opportunity employer. The successful Customer Support Engineer will work in a cross-functional manner with individuals within the supporting organizations, suppliers, and customers. The primary responsibility is to manage quality and change in order to ensure that the support organizations are working together to meet the expectations of the customers (minimize disruptions and deviations caused by quality or product/process change issues).Work with Customer Engine Plants and End Users to measure and improve Product Quality and Warranty LevelsDrive prioritization of Improvement Projects internally based upon Customer demands.Coordinate customer requested changes (SCR, PCR) with Product Engineering and ManufacturingWork with both customers to ensure product changes are coordinated within the manufacturing and quality system organizations.Coordinate activity between Manufacturing and Customers as required to ensure process improvement projects address customer concerns. Coordinate activity between Purchasing and Customers as required to ensure Supplier Projects address customer concerns. Coordinate customer approvals (PPAP). BS Degree in Engineering, Engineering TechnologyLooking for a "junior" engineer - someone who just graduated from college or has 3- 5 years of professional experience.Someone who has an interest in Product Engineering, Current Product Support, Service Engineering or Customer SupportHaving Product Engineering or Fuel Systems exp is a plus.Customer Support exp is also a plus.Mechanically inclined - this is NOT design work.Knowledge of 6 Sigma, and other TQM ProcessesThe ability to lead others and to communicate cross-functionally Ability to understand and communicate technical detailsSupport failed component return and analysis process and drive improvements based on this informationGood writing and oral presentation skills Good computer skills Cummins is an Equal Opportunity Employer
