Field Service Engineer – Metal Cutting Systems Position Description: 1.  OEM CNC Machine Tool manufacturer has a permanent/direct hire opening for a Field Service Engineer to travel to customer sites to service the machines.  Work on electrical systems, electronics, CNC controls, PLC controls, PC controls and mechanical systems.  Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and installs.2.  If you are tired and bored with going to the same place and doing the same thing every day, then this position offers tremendous variety.  You travel to new places and see different processes and applications every day.  3.  Position offers a competitive salary, company car and excellent benefits including: 401K plan (50% match), hospitalization, major medical, weekly disability income, vacation, holidays, sick leave days, etc.4.  Approximately 80 – 100% out of town travel is required.  You travel by airplane to customer sites and stay in hotel rooms 5 days a week every week. Occasional weekend travel on a voluntary basis.5.  This is a remote position. No relocation is required as long as you live within reasonable commuting distance of a major airport.  Requirements: 1.  Experience working on CNC controlled equipment, machine tools, and/or other forms of manufacturing equipment.2.  Must be willing to travel 100% 5 days a week.3.  Strong electronic troubleshooting skills.4.  Strong mechanical aptitude.5.  Strong electrical aptitude.6.  Ability to read electrical schematics.7.  Ability to read mechanical drawings.8.  Experience working on hydraulics.9.  Experience working on pneumatics.10. Experience troubleshooting PLC controls is a plus.11. Prior experience as a Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Technician.
