Fuel or Engine Systems Controls Technical Leader - BASED IN VANCOUVER, BC., CANADA

As an integral member of the Product Engineering team, you will provide functional leadership for our Systems Controls Team. You will work in direct relationship with our product development teams, as well as lead a team of passionate, highly skilled, and performance focused systems controls engineers. Your key responsibilities will be to:Champion the development of software engineering and product development best practices, standards and tools To improve systems and algorithms for industrial engine controls Conduct and document peer reviews and cross-functional reviews prior to each software release To define control system tool interface requirements with user/service groups; and to develop and release control system interface tools. Lead reviews that are held with hardware suppliers to release components into production Develop engineering protocols for systems engineers to test and evaluate the control calibration Mentor, coach and develop the Systems Controls Team to support all product development programs Work with Technical Program Leaders to define technical approaches, development schedules, and resource requirements including allocation management

The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree (Masters Degree an asset) with a systems software or controls concentration and a minimum of 3 years experience either at a functional or project management level in the development of systems controls applications (industrial, automotive). Demonstrated experience as a technical contributor on several full cycle product development projects is essential. Travel will be required.  Key demonstrated experience: Possess a sound knowledge base in software systems design ideally including electronic control systems, digital electronics, and communications Familiarity with six sigma tools  Ability to provide technical project management Sound knowledge of reliability analysis, statistical analysis, and system analysis as well good working knowledge of testing tools/methodologies Championed engineering process excellence in systems and algorithms design and development
