General Assembly – Process Engineering Manager

Lead teams of Assistant Managers, Group Leaders, and Team Leaders in an automotive manufacturing environment to meet and exceed company goals and objectives.  Direct supervisor of process engineers, tool room/general stores personnel, and administrative assistant.  Responsible for monitoring Safety, Quality, Cost, and productivity, with daily improvement activities.

 

·  Support establishment of work zones to include: specification and purchase of hand tools, power tools, benches, cabinets, jigs, fixtures, manufacturing aids and other items required to make the production area fully operational.

·  Responsible for operational aspects of process equipment.  Coordinate with Maintenance to engineer repairs, modifications, and upgrades.

·  Responsible for annual consumable materials/tool budget development and management

·  Serve as the leader in ergonomic improvement opportunities.

 

Education/Training:

High School Diploma/GED

4 year degree or comparable background of work related experience preferred

Advanced degree desired

7 – 12 years job related experience preferred

General Assembly – Process Engineer Specialist

Technical Specialist for assembly area in the General Assembly Department of an automotive manufacturing plant.  Job requirements include the analysis and improvement of current production processes and coordination of new model & launches.

 

· Coordinate and lead project activities, including new equipment installation, supplier selection, and implementation phases.

· Analyze & continuously improve performance of assigned area (safety, quality, production, cost and human factors).

· Serve as technical expert for Team Members & Team Leaders, including technical training, as required.

· Support daily production issues, as required.

· Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFTs) and other Problem Solving Teams, as directed by Senior Management.

· Continually review technical developments in area of responsibility and propose new technology projects as appropriate.

· Report current projects, progress, and issues to management.  Prepare presentations and reports as required.

· Understand and control labor allocation.

 

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

Demonstrated technical background, including data collection, analysis, and problem solving skills.

Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally; effective follow-up, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

 

Education/Training:
High School/GED

4 year degree in Engineering Discipline or comparable background of work related experience in Engineering/Industrial environment preferred.

3 – 5 years job related work experience preferred
