General Manager, Tax - World-class Tier 1

This opportunity is located in the Cincinnati, OH metro area.

 Job Description

Our client requires someone with an exceptionally strong tax background, and they prefer someone with Tier 1 or OEM automotive experience to lead the company’s Corporate Tax Department. The following are some of the primary job requirements:

1.  The primary responsibility is to lead the North American Tax Department for a 20+ plant operation.

2.  Oversee the preparation of tax provision data in conformity with the provisions of FAS 109 and analysis of Return of Provision variances.

3.  Supervise the preparation of state and local income tax returns for all solely owned, joint venture and affiliated companies. This includes the quarterly estimated income tax payments.

4. Manage and analysis of effective tax rates.

5. Management and supervision of audit activities for income, property and sales tax.

6. Performance of regular research and planning in the interest of optimizing the effective tax rate for the organization.

7. Strong management skills will be required to set performance targets, setting priorities and setting organizational goals with follow-up procedures. Strong matrix management style is required.Qualifications

Since this is such a critical position, the successful candidate must have the following background/qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required and MBA or advance degree is required. CPA is highly desirable.

2. Minimum of 5-7 years experience and minimum of 3-yearsof corporate tax experience.

3. Extensive working knowledge of FAS 109 and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principals) are required.

4. Strong MS Office skills required and enterprise software experience with SAP or Oracle is very desirable.

5. Demonstrated people and teamwork leadership development skills are required.

6. Strong problem solving skills and understanding the Toyota Production System are desirable.

7. Strong communication skills are required to be able to be effective.    Compensation/Benefits

The base compensation starts at $100,000 with bonus and car pushing to the total compensation package in excess of $125,000+. Since my client wants the best possible person for this position, the compensation package will be increased based on the successful candidate’s experience and previous success.
