General Purchasing Agent

QUALIFICATIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPurchase complex materials, components, systems, tooling and services within the guidelines of Procurement Truck Group.REQUIREMENTS: Negotiate or renew supplier agreements to purchase critical materials, parts components, tooling or services. Negotiate the most effective long term program for DTNA - including supplier commitments for pricing, warranty, engineering, manufacturing and Aftermarket support. Represent procurement in multi-functional product teams to develop and evaluate long term proposals. Participate in global commodity teams to achieve PTG goals. Manage supplier relationships, including long term partner suppliers. Interface with suppliers and DTNA Engineering, Aftermarket, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to insure the timely and accurate communication of specifications. Enlist supplier participation in design change considerations. Participate in the development of long term and global commodity strategies. Provide support to all Manufacturing plants for supplier related issues. Negotiate supplier warranty coverage to minimize DTNA exposure. Negotiate for exclusive products for DTNA. Evaluate alternative materials, methods, and technologies as necessary. Evaluate alternate suppliers as necessary. Create and utilize analytical tools to ensure world class pricing.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field with at least six (6) years of purchasing experience or related experience. In-depth knowledge of the following is preferred: business and economic issues, cost structures and contracts, commodities and suppliers in local and global markets, relevant materials and their features and production techniques, analytical tools used for supplier evaluation and selection, and PTG relevant processes and their application. Some experience working on international teams is preferred.
