Graphic Designer- Automotive Mail Order Catalog

Position:                 Graphic Designer – Print and Internet Media

Reports to:             Product Manager and Assistant. Product Manager

Departments:         Product Development & Support

 

Seeking a creative individual with catalog layout and design background for an innovative, fast paced Mail Order Catalog company in the Automotive Industry.

 A person with high degree of talent and creativity, excellent graphic and computer skills, commitment to the company, and a strong work ethic is desired. This individual must be able to collaborate with our Product Development Team and Marketing Department in a professional manner. This individual must be able to take direction, be extremely detail oriented, time line-sensitive, and adhere to strict process and procedures. 

 

This position is technical in nature as it is dealing in and around automotive parts and accessories. An Automotive knowledge is a must, with experience and/or background in and around automobiles with a comfort of vehicle systems a must. The ability to search, retrieve and organize information through the use of the Internet, Industry periodicals, automotive parts manuals, etc. is essential to this position.

  

Responsibilities and Daily Job Duties include:

·         Develop creative graphics and design layout for (3) biannual print catalogs

·         Develop Creative artwork, layout, and design for (12) different magazine advertisements in monthly periodicals.

·         Develop Creative artwork in conjunction with Marketing Department for Internal Product announcements, Press Releases, and other Advertising Graphical requests as necessary.

·         Work closely with Marketing and Product Development team in development of print catalogs and web site Graphic enhancements.

·         Maintain art files and detail design information, colors, processes.

·         Maintain graphic supplies.

·         Learn, evaluate, and improve structural design fundamentals and catalog creation process.

 

      Qualifications

·         College Degree or equivalent work experience.

·         Formal training in Graphic Design.

·         Minimum 2-3 years experience, preferably in the Automotive industry

·         Strong Computer Skills; Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe InDesign CS3, MS Excel, and Power Point)

·         Willingness to learn

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·         Strong accuracy, detail oriented 

·         Demonstrates leadership ability and can work in a team environment

·         Can multi-task, taking on more than one project at a time
