Human Resources Coordinator - Automotive Supplier - SW Michigan

Summit Polymers East Plant 05 in Portage, MI, an automotive supplier of plastic injection molded interior trim, currently has an opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator. This is a clerical support position reporting directly to the Plant Human Resources Manager. The successful candidate will have a 2-4 year degree with a concentration in Human Resources, this may be an excellent opportunity for the new grad looking for on-the-job training and experience.  Primary responsibilities may include any number of the following tasks: Screening, interviewing, and hiring of hourly personnel; development, maintenance and handling of confidential employee records and information; time clock record keeping; insurance benefits including unemployment and workers’ compensation; and administration of Summit’s rules and regulations and all safety requirements.

This is an administrative position performing clerical duties. Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, State Unemployment Laws, Lockout/Tagout, HazCom, and OSHA regulations are a big plus. Competent computer/word processing skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks are a must.
