Information Systems Audit Principal

Develop, execute, and track IT audit plans and / or Sarbanes-Oxley assignments and / or track Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts for IT  audits for Timken Company operations worldwide.  Complete assignments per the annual audit schedule within +- 10% of budgeted hours.   Prepare audit reports that are consistently well written, contain pertinent issues, meaningful recommendations and resolutions that reflect a balance between the need to maintain effective controls and efficient operations.  Audit clients include managers at all levels of the organization, depending on the audit being performed.  All reports are distributed to the Sr. Vice President — Finance, Controller, and the Sr. VP and General Counsel.  Unsatisfactory reports are issued to and reviewed with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and the Management Committee. Evaluate, as an expert, new and existing information systems and/or process controls in the company and provide assurance on the adequacy of the controls.   Work as a liaison with Information Technology (IT), finance, and plant management / associates on a global basis to provide guidance in the development of proper controls to be included in information security practices / policies and other critical business processes. Take a leadership role in developing and executing new information security practices as well as promoting the awareness of information security issues.   Assist in the development of junior staff members, acting as a mentor and coach and help them develop IT / audit skills.   Remain current on new and emerging technologies as well as audit techniques and work with the VP -Auditing, the Audit Managers and staff members to implement if appropriate.  This includes active membership in the Institute of Internal Auditors, Information Systems Audit and Control Association and regular attendance at ISACA and/or IIA meetings. Education: Bachelor degree in Computer and/or Business Information Systems with 10 years of experience.  Master’s degree 5-7 years of experience. Experience: - Demonstrated ability to handle complex issues and new technology.  - Strong oral and written communication ability.  - 5 – 10 years experience in auditing activities including  2 – 5 years of Information Technology audit experience.  - CISA, CIA, or CPA certifications strongly desired.  Technical Competencies:- Strong organizational and project management skills.- Advanced technical computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook.
