Lab Test Engineer

Complete Description:

Writes work instructions for Lab Technicians to follow for set-up and running of tests. Manages day to day running of test. (Verifies test is being run to specification). Collects, summarizes and performs initial analysis of test data. Writes technical reports. Designs fixturing with the use of AutoCAD for adapting test samples to test machine. Capable of designing complex test set-ups and new test machines. Tracks which instrumentation is used on each test.
Utilizes PIM to submit test reports to Test Engineers for approval. Integrates sophisticated measurement systems with test hardware.
Takes on additional supporting roles for group (writing programs, designing data base, etc.).
Education and Experience Requirements :
College degree with a major in engineering or equivalent technical degree. High level of analytical ability. Developed oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of design, development, test engineering, and manufacturing processes. Training in computer applications. High level of interpersonal skills. Ability to plan and organize effectively. AutoCAD.
