Logistics Manager - Manchester

Centroid Group, a logistics management and consulting services company, has an opening for a Logistics Manager. This high-profile position will be located on-site at our client’s manufacturing plant in Manchester, MI.

 

The Logistics Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development and planning of a comprehensive inbound material flow strategy for the client including transportation, and inventory control. This position will also be responsible for the operational execution of the plan including managing daily transportation operations, auditing and authorizing carrier freight bills, routing expedite shipments and creating standardized and ad-hoc reports. The Logistics Manager will be in charge of implementing and achieving annual cost savings initiatives as well.

 

This position requires experience in transportation and logistics with a record of increasing responsibility. Experience should include operational transportation management, negotiation with carriers, and freight bill audit & payment. Additionally, the position requires a solid understanding of MRP concepts. Applicant should possess strong analytical abilities and detailed knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access). Strong oral and written communication skills are required to effectively interact with the client’s management group. A Bachelors degree in transportation, logistics or related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
