MARKETING SPECIALIST
REQUIREMENTS: Provide support to the Product Segment Managers. Gathers and compiles industry and competitive information to determine market potential, profitability, positioning and strategies. Market Research: Compile market, product, customer, dealer, supplier and competitive data for analysis. Gather research describing the industry, market, product, dealer and customer trends. Research market conditions in local, regional, and national areas to determine potential sales of parts products. Responsible for collection and coordination of research describing the industry, market, product, dealer and customer trends. Sales Programs and Promotions: Gather and compile sales program data to assess impact of both existing and planned campaigns to determine profitability and achievement of strategic goals. Conduct research of suppliers to determine strategies to improve promotion campaign performance. Assist in design and development of materials (e.g. flyers) and communications for programs based on defined marketing plans and strategic communications plan for segments (dealers, fleet). Gather and communicate feedback from internal stakeholders on programs and make revisions. Analyze supplier’s contributions and debit suppliers for direct mail direct mail, ongoing concessions and promotions. Monitoring and Reporting: Provide ongoing tracking and reporting for Management and relevant stakeholders, including margin, monitor, sales, supplier MDF payments and rebates, promotions effectiveness, bulk and other ad hoc reports as needed. Product Portfolio Management: Support the research of new product/product extensions to understand and define customer requirements. Assist in qualitative and quantitative research to support product development using focus groups, surveys, interviews and test markets Competitive and Market Analysis: Collect and analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, needs and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand. Support the development of competitive and market assessment reports based on field intelligence, industry data and customer feedback. Supplier Research: Gather research on supplier capabilities, offerings and ability to meet FTL objectives and product strategies Researches freight policies; payment discounts; large volume fleet discounts; inventory return privileges; aftermarket warranty support and compliance with cost recovery standards; supplier advertising resources, financial subsidies, purchasing rebates to determine supplier fit with overall FTL and product objectives.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field or two year degree with an additional two years of clearly defined applicable experience. Master’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Heavy Duty or Automotive aftermarket parts program experience is preferred. OEM, supplier and industry knowledge is preferred.Previous promotions experience preferred.
