We are very picky, however, once we hire an employee they usually stay. We have a mechanic here now that has been with us for more than 18 years.

MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF FIVE YEARS OF SOME TYPE OF MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE

 

SALARY WILL BE BASED ON EXPERIENCE.

 

Skills/Qualifications:
FIVE years experience as industrial or truck mechanic with strong mechanic skills, Fabrication experience, Tooling, Welding experience, Strong electrical knowledge, Detail Oriented, Strong Work Ethic, Organized, Some Heavy Lifting required, Auto body work experience is a plus, Must have strong hydraulic experience, Supply Management, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Technical Understanding, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control, Job Knowledge,

 

The person filling this position needs to be a “Jack of all Trades”

 

DESCRIPTION:

 

Maintains equipment and completely refurbishes equipment and reconditions equipment by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting equipment deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping accurate and detailed records.

Duties:
* Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts and presenting a plan to refurbish and recondition each vehicle with estimated price to do so to owner of company for owner’s approval to start reconditioning of equipment.



* Must occasionally travel in a company truck to service or repair a customer’s equipment. Must treat all customers like gold and be patient with disgruntled customers while repairing their problem and addressing their problem in a tactful way while keeping cost to a minimum.

 

* Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.

* Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.

* Keeps shop very clean at all times and keeps shop tools organized and maintains all shop equipment in excellent operating condition by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; cleaning and organizing tools at the end of everyday.

* Contains costs by using warranty when available; evaluating service and parts options; constantly looking for ways to do things cheaper; careful not to waste time while on the clock.


* Keeps supplies ready by watching inventory stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications (we have an excellent two day training school available that we will pay all of your expenses to attend in Texas).

* Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Assists on road calls if needed.

Plans work procedure to conduct repairs/overhauls.

Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear as appropriate.

Able to use cutting torch and weld as needed. Stainless Steel. (Plasma)

Hydraulic repairs.

Rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks.

Rewires ignition system, lights, and instrument panel.

Relines and adjusts brakes, aligns front end, repairs or replaces shock absorbers.

Mends damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts.

Records all maintenance and repairs completed and parts utilized.

Performs the daily and weekly shop clean-up.

Monitors lubricant levels for shop use (oil, antifreeze, detergents, etc.).

Attend schools, classes, training courses, etc. as requested by the company to further skills (and looks for other courses to go to and presents them to the company for possible expenses paid by the company).

Maintains an inventory of shop tools and equipment.
