MOTORCYCLE ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN/RIDER

DESCRIPTION:

 

* Preparing motorcycles for brake testing
* Mechanical – bracket fabrication, component installation
* Electrical – harness fabrication, instrumentation installation, de-bug
* Vehicle testing
* Perform objective vehicle testing according to test procedures
* Perform vehicle durability riding to evaluate system robustness
* Support on-site and off-site customer ride events
* Development Vehicle Maintenance
* Brake/tire changes and burnishes, oil changes, outrigger installation
* Maintain vehicle instrumentation calibration records
* Work with customer engineering to coordinate vehicle updates
* Maintain a spare parts inventory for vehicle instrumentation and repairs

Job Qualifications (required)
* Valid driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement
* Motorcycle riding experience
* Ability to work well in a small, application focused team
* Experience with data acquisition systems and vehicle test data collection
* Knowledge of vehicle mechanical & electrical systems
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Willingness to travel
* Experience working in the automotive or motorcycle braking field

Job Qualifications (preferred)
* Motorcycle testing experience
* Advanced motorcycle rider training (eg. superbike school, police school)
* Experience working with ATI Vision instrumentation
* Knowledge of motorcycle mechanical & electrical systems
* ASE certification as an automotive or motorcycle mechanic
* CDL or chauffeur’s license
* 4 year automotive or technical degree

EDUCATION:
2 year automotive or technical degree
