 This job contributes to the success of Avis Budget Group, Inc., by managing maintenance function for one or more on or off airport locations to ensure maximization of fleet utilization, incremental revenue, customer satisfaction and employee management.  Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:  Coordinating all activities related to the mechanical repair and maintenance of  fleet vehicles to provide mechanically sound vehicles for rental, sales, and shuttling activities.  Ensuring high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks.  Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality. Performing various activities related to the ordering, receipt, control and distribution of auto parts, maintenance tools, and supplies and/or assists the Parts Supervisor with these tasks. Managing vendor/provider relationships to negotiate prices and terms of business agreements. Investigating customers’ claims of mechanical failure.  Communicates results of investigations to City M &D Manager and may compose letters of defense or explanation to customers. Forecasting how many vehicles will be completed by Maintenance for assigned location rental needs.  Assigns extra mechanics to locations needing assistance, and notifies managers responsible for unavailable vehicles (e.g. Turnback) to resolve mechanical problems. Investigating all vehicles in the out-of-service status to determine extent of mechanical service needed.  Initiates repair orders and assigns technicians to efficiently return car to for-rent status. Assisting Maintenance & Damage Manager in monitoring all cars placed in external shops to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of quality work. At Busing Locations: Ensures that all buses are up and running and coordinates mechanical and body damage repairs. Ensuring technicians participate in training programs to ensure that they meet manufacturer training standards. Ensuring proper staffing and the use of overtime hours to maximize the effectiveness of the Maintenance function.  Conducting annual performance appraisals for direct reports, recommending salary increases, provides individual feedback to improve performance, and initiating corrective action in response to personnel problems.    Required Experience Minimum of one year of supervisory management experience required; three or more years of supervisory management experience preferred in a service oriented field. Effective supervisory, communication, organizational, and creative problem solving skills.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective supervisory, communication, organizational, and creative problem solving skills Ability to effectively interact with vendors, customers and the public. Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.  Knowledge of ERO systems preferred.
