Manufacturing Engineer - Robotic and EOA Tooling Expertise - Build and Program - Travel and Train

This is a responsible, technical, shop floor, and leadership position that will focus on improving molding room automation across the company.

 

This position of Manufacturing Technical Leader - Molding Room Automation (robots and end of arm tooling) will report to the Assistant to the President and will work with manufacturing (MEs, Maintenance staff and General Managers) and engineering (tooling group and engineering technical managers). This position is project based and is designed to support the key corporate target of reducing labor cost per standard hour in the molding room.  The goal is to spread best practices across the company’s molding rooms and to achieve consistent results through consistent methods.  This is a corporate position that has high visibility to the top management of the company. 

 

This position requires working knowledge and hands-on experience with robots (preferably Wittman, Yushin, and /or AEC), EOAT, injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.  Ability to program and build end-of-arm tooling.  This position requires analytical skills, the ability to gather and analyze information, and make decisions based on that information.  The position also requires skills in communication and presentation of materials.  The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have project management skills and the initiative and ability to get things done with and through others. 



Requirements
An engineering degree and or three years relevant experience is required. Travel to all Summit plants is required.  Travel will be 30% of time.  Initially will be assigned for some time period depending on current experience (average experience would be about a month) at Mt. Sterling to work and learn by doing to benchmark the best practices currently in the company.
