Production Supervisor

 

Location: South of Rochester, NY

 

Position Summary:

 

As a Production Supervisor, you will be a key contributor in regards to the quality and productivity of designated manufacturing cells and production lines throughout the plant.  You will be expected to manage projects and priorities while maintaining the productivity of the employees in your area. You will be required to effectively communicate both department and company goals to your team’s employees and be the focal point in helping the team achieve them.  You will be expected to utilize lean manufacturing principles and implement process flow and line improvements within your department. As a Production Supervisor, you will also be responsible for employee development, performance evaluations, and corrective actions as needed.

Duties:

Achieve manufacturing team results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures in a Union environment.

Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; ; follow reporting procedures and systems; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel.

Implement record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.

Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Supervision, Coaching, Managing Processes, Process Improvement.

Requirements:A.A.S Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.Minimum three years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication/interpersonal skills Ability  to guide the continuous improvement efforts within the department. Union environment experience a plusAutomotive or Transportation plant experience a plusLean Manufacturing experience a plus
