Apply engineering and problem-solving skills to the design and development of generator sets and related systems in the Experimental Mechanics area2. Provide recommendations to project engineers based on results3. Manage the stress lab projects and equipment4. Develop and implement plans for the advancement of capabilities in experimental mechanics across Power Generation Business Unit5. Provide work direction to technicians6. Assure all engineering technical data is complete and accurately documented7. Manage work schedules Skills ' Functional/Technical:1. Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in Experimental Mechanics2. Strong analytical problem solving skills in the areas of fatigue analysis and failure mechanisms, bolted joints, and machine design.3. Ability to visualize the physics of mechanical systems providing solutions using analysis and tests4. Understanding of measurement systems and lab equipment -- digital signal processing, displacement measurement, and electro-dynamic testing, strain, accelerometers, servo-hydraulic test systems5. Familiarity with engineering tools including n-code, Matlab, Somat, Vibration Research desirable6. Knowledge of generator set and engine operation7. Finite element modeling skills desirableSkills ' Quality/Improvement:1. Experience working with Six Sigma improvement methodology as a Black Belt, Green Belt, or team member 2. Ability to lead and contribute to Engineering Standard Work and Analysis Led Design improvement initiatives3. Ability to lead process improvement activity in field of specialty4. Excellent technical writing and oral presentation skillsSkills ' Teamwork:1. Ability to work in a team environment including customersSkills ' Leadership:1. Ability to plan and carry out projects efficiently.2. Ability to pace / prioritize work to meet deadlines.3. Ability to gain commitment from other functional areas of the company4.
