Model Maker/Machinist/Fabricator

 

Hunter Engineering Company is a global leader in the development and manufacture of advanced technology for the automotive equipment industry.  We have an opening in our Engineering Department for a Machinist/Model Maker/Fabricator.  Duties will include machining and building of prototype parts and equipment from steel and alloy bar stock and sheet metal working from drawings and verbal instructions, creating weldment fixtures and frames.

 

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of previous experience with a strong background in the use of machine shop and metal fabrication tools and equipment including Bridgeport lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, sheet metal brakes and presses.  Must be able to read engineering drawings, interpret geometric tolerances to machine, inspect parts, and set up machines for various parts including complex castings and extrusions.  Welding experience desired but not required.  Experience using and programming Haas vertical milling machines is a plus but not required.  An interest in antique automotive and aeronautical machinery is a plus.  Other duties may include working with and repairing antique automobiles and equipment.
