NAPA Rayloc - District Electrical Sales Manager

Summary:  As part of the Electrical Sales Group, a successful candidate will promote and sell a range of automotive aftermarket electrical and rotating electrical products including alternators, starters and small motors, as well as calipers, brake pads and shoes and batteries by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned. 

 Establish and maintain contact with members of the management team for the NAPA Distribution Center in Indianapolis, IN as well as all area NAPA store and shop owners.

 Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and potential customers to solicit orders, or talk with customers by phone.

 Display, demonstrate, sample, test and train on all products, using samples or catalog entries, and emphasize salable features.

 Quote prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

 Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of distribution and delivery schedules.

 Prepare regular reports of business transactions and keep accurate and detailed expense accounts.

 Works with inside/territory sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.

 Assist with and coordinate the tracking of stock levels and other customer training.

 Investigate and promptly resolve customer problems with deliveries.

 Provide assistance with new customers or store change-overs as needed.

 Maintain contact with Rayloc Remanufacturing Centers to learn about product features and production times.

Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability: Periodically, it is essential for a successful candidate to clearly and effectively write routine reports and correspondence.  Likewise, he or she should possess an ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Rayloc.

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic word processing, internet and e-mail software and systems.

 

Certificates and Licenses: A background in automotive aftermarket sales and service, including ASE Certification, a plus.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. As part of his or her regular duties, a successful candidate will regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk.

 

Travel: Regular overnight travel in the territory is required.
