Bosch is a global company with locations in more than 70 countries and more than 250,000 employees.Our advanced development facility in Waltham Massachusetts, close to Boston, is a small entrepreneurial facility which provides engineering, testing, prototyping, and simulation to other Bosch groups in the United States and around the world.We are seeking an Engineer to work in our Waltham, MA R&D facility as a team member in our noise and vibration group. The scope of work involves simulation, programming, design, testing and data analysis, working on topics improving the sound quality of Bosch products. Work environment is a small, tightly integrated, highly efficient group of motivated, interdisciplinary, problem solvers.Essential Duties' Evaluate and develop the noise and vibration performance of Bosch prototype and production products' Plan and execute noise and vibration projects that support the development of quiet products' Conduct experimental noise, vibration and aeroacoustic investigations using SQLab, FFT analysis, Artemis software, HP signal analyzer, and Polytec scanning laser vibrometer' Perform problem root cause analysis and define appropriate countermeasures' Utilize Matlab and simulation tools like ANSYS and ABAQUS to verify experimental results and predict noise performance Requirements:' BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field' Must be able to communicate or display a thorough understanding of engineering fundamentals' Knowledge of and practical experience with Noise and Vibration instrumentation, measurement, data acquisition, and analysis' Knowledge of FEA methods and modal analysis' Excellent organizational skills' Excellent written and verbal communication skills' Must be a team player and willing to learn' Hands-on mechanical skillsPreferred:' 3 years of combined industry experience and noise and vibration knowledge' Programming skills: MatLab, Simulink' Knowledge of electric motor physicsSoftware utilized includes:' FEA: ABAQUS, ANSYS' Noise and Vibration: Artemis, MatLab' CAD: Solidworks' MS Office
