Job Description:

 

York Repair, Inc., is a growing, yet established local company located in Bay City, MI that has multiple operating divisions which include Electronic Repair, Electric Motor Repair, Industrial Repair, and Asset Management. York Repair, Inc. is seeking a Network Administrator for a full-time position within the IT Department. He/She must have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and no less than 2 years job related experience. The Network Administrator will be responsible for ensuring functionality of operational systems, including desktops/laptops, printers, servers, routers, and the LAN. Additional responsibilities will include support of company ERP system.

 

Primary Duties:

 

-  Maintain, upgrade, and repair the LAN, including making and implementing recommendations for new equipment, upgrades, improving efficiency, managing security, etc.

-  Setup & Troubleshoot Windows Server Systems (Exchange 2003, Active Directory, IIS, SharePoint, Print Servers)

-  Assist the PC users with questions and problems relating to the use of the PC and the installed software (MS Office 2003, Windows XP, Printing, Backup, etc.).

-  Research, download, and apply software upgrades, patches, and fixes for all PC software, including Microsoft Windows, Office, Internet Explorer, and all other company software residing on PC.

-  Maintain company ERP System (FilePro 6.0) by programming, making custom reports, and database maintenance.

-  PBX Support

-  Works with software/services vendors as needed

 

Experience:

 

Required:

-  Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

-  Strong communication skills (both oral and written), must be able to interact with all levels of the organization

-  Must posses a strong independent initiative to learn

-  Organized and follows procedures

-  MS Windows XP troubleshooting

-  Barcode/Laser/Dot-Matrix Printers and Scanners troubleshooting

-  MS Office 2003 Support (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

-  PC/Server hardware troubleshooting

-  Configuring LAN equipment, including routers(wired and wireless), switches, print servers, VPN, firewalls, and network attached storage

-  Linux Red Hat Enterprise Server administration

-  MS Windows Server 2003 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, IIS, Active Directory)

-  Crystal Reports 11

-  Prior programming experience in any language

 

Preferred:

-  Visual Studio .NET (VB, C#, ASP)

-  SQL Stored Procedures, SQL Query Language, and SQL Transactions

-  Development of data driven websites (ASP.NET 1.1+, PHP)

-  Certifications a plus.
